终于完成Drury的interview了~~~松了口气,现在打字都手都还有点陡~~55555~~~毕竟是关系到奖学金的事情.还是赶快把面经写了:

这次面试的是个男的,声音挺好听的.不过忘了叫什么名字了姑且用M表示吧~~边面试,他边在记录,比如我喜欢的书啊之类的.比起PRINCETON的要正式的多.电话是10:20准时响的.

I:hello(因为来电显示是00190****所以就直接用英语说了)

M:Hello, I am **** from Drury

I: I know, glad to hear from you

M:are you ready to go on?

I:yeah

M:well, tell me a little about yourself. where did you born and so on

I:(本来想翻RESUME的,结果没来得及)my born place is in xichuang in P.R.China. when I was about 9 years old, I went to Chengdu, where now I am living.

M: I C

I:when I was 5 years old, I started learning playing the piano and Chinese traditional dance, and when I was in junior school I learned cello and guzheng a kind of Chinese traditional dance. My junior school and high school is Chengdu Experimental Foreign Languages School...

(被打断了)M: ok, tell me about your mother and father, what do they do?

I: my mother is Chinese teacher and father is officer

M:what kind officer?

I:now he got retired.

M:well, what books you read recently are most meaningful for you?and why?

I:(准备过的,嘿嘿) my favourite book is the dream of red mansion, do you know? one of the four greatest novel in China. Written by Mr. Cao xueqin in Qing dynasty. The reason why I love it is that It is not only with high literature value,and can give us a short view of the Qing dynastry's politic view, but also leaves a lot of mysteries to us so that many Chinese famous universities and institutes established many associations specializing in those mysteries. The prototype of the whole book are Cao Xueqin's family. He used a lot of metaphors in the book. One which impressed me most is that en..at the beginning of the story, Mr. Cao set a lot of poems, each represents one character. What is wrote in poems is exactly the whole life of the characters they represent. I am so surprized about how an author can write such things when he was about wrting the whole story. and you also can see every words every action even the furniture's setting has its own deep meaning. You just like a detective when you read this book. Taking care of every details and guessing the development. It really help us to build the ability to be cautious.

M: to be cautious, why?

I: because every details in this book have great meaning. so when we read, we are searching for the every details to look for the wonderful things.

M:I c, it takes a little time to write down what you said.

I: Ok

M: what do you expect to study in Drury?

I:firstly, studying in Drury means far away from my home, It is absolutely a new environment for me. But it is also why I choose to study abroad. Then, studying in Drury can give me a different method to think, to see things. because the education in US is different from that in China, this is what i expect too.

M: what difference do you think the US education and Chinese education have?

I:ya, you know, the Chinese education is taking the score highly, it requires you to memorize a lot of things. and its primary education is good. like maths, some science. but US education always teach students to be creative, to establish new idea. this is what we can't get in China. the teacher in US is not only telling the knowledge and extend the scope of knowledge, he or she also will give you some kind advise.to tell you whether what you have thought is repeated with the older one.

M: how do you know this?

I: when I was about 9 years old, I firstly read that in a book named the Harvard girl named Liu Yiting, so that I determine my mind to have my higher education in states. So I am taking care of the information about US always.

M:what book?

I: the Harvard girl named Liu Yiting(好象RECORD了的)

M:what do you think you will be when you are 25 years old or after 10 years?

I: I like trying new things, and always challenging myself. So it is difficult to tell what I will be when I am 25 or after 10 years. Maybe I will work in a bank. Maybe I will teach students in colleges, Maybe I will do some travelling. It all depends.

M:Ok, will you go back to China?

I: yes, because China is my motherland.

M: when? after graduation?

I: well, it depends. Maybe after graduation, maybe after I working for several years.

M: what experience do you want to have in college?

I: I like playing the music,and to attend some organizations and work with other ppl. Maybe I will do some theater work like present and so on. and the model united nations is still a good choice.

M: do you have any questions to ask me?

I:yeah, does drury have any program help students to find their job after graduation?

M:......(记不住了,反正说的就是有,然后具体是怎样的)

I:what admissions and trustee scholarship decision process?

M:又是说了一啪啦,只记的他说过完成今天面试后的2个星期就可以拿结果

I: does Drury provide any internership program?

M:......

I: what are the housing options for freshman

M:说的是除非家里很近而且是US的人,其他人全住校,第二年才能离开

I: no other questions

M: what other universities are you interested in in states?

I: the first one is princeton university, and clark university

M:clark university? interesting

I:yeah, and hampshire college

M: an interesting college

I:the last one is trinity college

M:I c, did you talk with Hampshire?

I: no, I only got an interview with an offcer from Princeton

M: so drury is the only one you applied in middle of the states

I: yeah, because two of my best friends are in middle and one is in drury

M: they are in Drury

I: one is and another is in Kansas City

M:oh, not far away

I:yeah

M: ok,i really appreciate your time...

I: I really enjoy talking with you

终于写完了,一共是15分钟40多秒,比小普整整少了一半多~~不过我却紧张得要死~~好多时候说话都开始结了~~郁闷~~~

实在是没想到,今天居然接到Princeton Interview的电话.早上还在睡梦中...妈妈就说有美国的电话过来,让偶赶快起来接.偶开始还以为是DAVE他们,但是很奇怪为什么不打手机,而是打到家里......结果一接电话是个speaking english的老美.顿时无语......

MM: Hello, is this Fu Xian???

I: Yeah

MM: I am Lucy Hornby, alumni of Princeton. Are you convient to have an interview now?

I:(当时顿时就懵了,脑袋完全是在混乱中......)Actually not. Can I have an interview after 30 minutes???

MM: Ok, how about 1 hour?

I: OK

MM:Well, I will call you at 9:30 your time

I: OK

MM:Bye

I:Bye ( 完全是还没睡醒啊~~~貌似都不会说话了!!!)

 

真没想到Princeton的面试会这么突然的.THEN, 偶马上CALL WNX,因为他10号已经面完了.他给我说了一啪啦东西,后来还专门给我发了邮件过来,万分感谢~~~THEN, 偶把resume,ps等等交了的材料全部打了一份出来备用.然后又到google上搜了下这个叫Lucy的是何许人物.还好,一来就找到了~~Lucy Hornby 95年毕业,通过princeton-in-Aisa来到中国将近10年(难怪妈妈说那个人中文说得好好)先在武汉某大学任教,然后到上海为Reuters写Report.Then想了想该说些什么,一个小时就过去了......

电话是10:40的样子响的.以下是面试内容,希望对朋友们有帮助......

I: Hello!

L:Hello, is that Fu Xian?

I:yeah

L: I am princeton's alumni, we want to have an interview with all the students who applied Princeon......

I: I am very glad to have the interview

L:hehe

I: and happy chinese new year!

L: So you lived in Chengdu

I:yeah, it is a really nice place.

L: i have travled to there and got good expression,well, tell me briefly about yourself. Did you travel to somewhere in holiday?

I: you mean this winter holiday?

L:yeah

I:no. Because I have endless homework and tests to do.

L:oh, really? So you didn't enjoy the time with your family?

I: yeah, my teacher don't want us to relax ourself.

L:they may be afraid of playing will make you lose what you have learned?

I: yeah, you know we only have 100 days to prepare for the NMET.

L:yes, what do you think of NMET?

I: it is boring. but for every chinese, we must take nmet, if not, we can't go to universities, can't get a good job, can't have a good diploma.

L:i c. what homework do you do?

I: a lot of papers, and some books need we to complete

L:why do you want to study abroad?

I: because US can give me a different view to see the things.you know staying in one place for a long time always is easy to make one lose his ambition.

L:what's your ambition?

I:for now is to enter a college which i like

L:just enter a college?

I:yeah, it is just for now not for future

L: do you have any further thought or it is still too early to think about

I: no, it is not too early, i have ever thought. I just want to try different things in my future. Always keep challenging myself.

L:so what hobbies do you have?

I: i like reading, listening to the music and so on.

L: what kind of music do you like?

I: classic and pop

L:whose work do you like?

I:Mozart, Beethoven, Hyden(不知道是不是这样拼的)

L:who do you like most?

I:Mozart. Because I have learned playing the piano for about 13 years, I played many Mozart's works.

L:is his work difficult to play?

I:no

L:i c, i don't play piano, so i don't know that at all. Except this, what things do you like to do

I:reading

L:what kind of books do you like ?

I: maybe novels, like the story of red mansion

L: the dream of red mansion? 红楼梦(用中文说的)

I:yeah, it is a really really great novel

L: i have told myself to red that, but i still haven't

I: you can learn a lot from it

L:you mean the thoughts?

I: not only thoughts, you can see everyones's personality and guess the story's development from the beginning.

(感觉没说对,本来想表达的是在开始的时候设置的悬念太棒了) you just like a researcher when you read that and to discover every detail.

L:maybe i really should read it.

I: so I am interested in that, you have been to China for about 10 years and teach in Wuhan, why do you choose to go to China?

L: aha, how do you know that????

I: actually when you called me this morning, i search your name on google.

L:hehe, you like a detective. The reason is .....(具体记不到了,大致就是中国是个很好的地方,很有发展潜力之类的)

I: and why do you choose princeton university?

L: when i was a high school students, my school is near princeton, and get a good expression. Also, my father went to there, and he is happy when i got in.What universities do you applied?(本来以为她会问我为什么选PRINCETON的,这样就可以扯很多出来了,结果......)

I: princeton , clark, trinity, drury

L:is trinity in...(没听清)

I: no , it is in connecticut, besides yale

L:oh yes, i forget some while ,and where is clark?

I:it is in MA

L:massachusetts??

I:yes

L: what major do you choose ?

I: for princeton is Woodrow Wilson of public and international affairs.

L: so you want to do some things international?

I: because it is a mixture of what i'd like to learn, the management, the media, the psycology of human's mind and to decide,to judge.

L: so you just want to know more not do as a career

I: because i like to challenging. so i want to try something new. I don't know it much, so firstly, i want to know, and then maybe do as a career

L:how about other colleges

I: for drury is art adminastration,you know i have learned several musical instrment, so studying something related to art may be good for me to display my speciality.

L: yeah, so what do you have learned

I: cello, dance and guzheng you know ?

L:yeah

I: actually, i send a cd to princeton

L: that is a good idea, people don't know how well you play unless you send your work

I: yeah, i have send for works, two for piano and two for guzheng, but you know, princeton's requirement is strict

L:really?

I:yeah, they requires you to submit different kind of works. One from Mozart, Beethoven and hyden, One from Bache, and one you like.but other schools don't have such requirement

L:oh, maybe they want to see how well you played

I:yeah, it can prevent some guys who can't play well but want to enter a school very much may only practise for one or two work for a long time and then submit

L: and how about trinity and clark

I: i didn't choose for those schools.

L:so you just applied

I: yeah, because us requires students to decide the major in sophermore year?

L:yeah

I:this is what interested me a lot. What schools did you apply?

L:the application system may be different at my time. ( 具体说的什么忘了,反正意思就是她是ed进的小普,然后就没机会申请其他学校了.真是个牛人.)

I:you mean ED?

L:yes

I:we still have eds

L:really? i thought it changed

I:this year not, maybe in 2008 will

L: i c what do you think of ED system

I: i think it is good for chinese students. Us application process takes too long time. You know most chinese students who do application are in senior 3. If we spend a lot time doing application, it will cause our academic record a little bit decrease

L:......(完全没听清在说什么,只有按到来咯)

I:but ED also has drawbacks. one of my friend got admission ticket from Yale in ED (其实是ea,开始在胡编乱造了)

L:do you have any questions about princeton, maybe i can help to consult.

I: how does princeton define one student is good or not?

L: ya~actually, i am not ao, so this is really difficult question to answer......(说了好多,其实我也没怎么听,无非就什么成绩只是一方面啊,要全面考察啊.还说我寄CD就是一个很好的办法之类的)

I: and compared Chinese educational system and US educational system, what do you think?

L: ......又是一啪啦没认真听的,大概就说中国教育能够对于识记的东西,还有数学等很好吧,而美国教育注重让孩子自己有自己的意见之类的

I: which university in China  do you like?

L: i don't know much, because i have only taught in one wuhan university. but chinese universities are changing quickly.

I:yeah, especially the peking university.

L:......(实在记不住了,好象是在说北大在往LAC的方向发展) what else school do you know is changing like a lac

I: maybe fudan university

L: which university do you like?

I:Hongkong uni. Fudan univ. China communication Univ.

L: you mean 交通大学?(说的中文)

I:no, in Chinese is 中国传媒大学.because i had an interview with teachers there several days ago.

L:really, i thought chinese univ. doesn't have interviews and only look at scores.They really change a lot

I: yeah, but this interview is different from yours. If you want to study acting, they will test you to sing to read and to act. If you want to study directing, they will test you to express your thoughts after seeing a tv program or movie.

L: it sounds more like an art uni.

I: yeah it is

L: do you have any question about princeton?

I:no

L: did you get my email.

I: yeah i c it this morning. Because i didn't open my email box yesterday

L: sorry to leave only a small notice

I: it is all right.

L:actually, i want all of you a good result, but you know, everyone has different background, so it is really difficult to judge you all

today~ i treated Jx for dinner in good wood~~ really so wonderful night~~while i lost my change bag and fish~two things i recieved as gifts when i bought my cell. 5555555 so sad~~~but i found the same bag in taobao~~ i could bought in there, it will cost me at least 20 RMB~~~ soooooooo depressed. I am too careless.

 

but Jx is really a wonderful guy. I though WYY and i just have some misunderstanding of him. hehe~~ i am afraid i will fall in love again. sister told me you shouldn't do that. it will be bad for both of you two. i think too~~hehe, just remain this feeling after NMET~~~when i was back, i recived his SMS, he said he was really happy tonight~~i am so glad to hear that.~~wa ka ka~~

Yesterday~~mum brought me to buy a new cellphone~ it is almost 2 and a half months since my last cellphone--dear sony&erisson W550 got lost. I love my dear 550 soooooo much~~ actually, i have considered to buy a new 550 but finally i abandoned. If i really did, it would only remind me of my loss~~

 

after looking for so long time,from Nokia N72.N80 to Se W830,W850, finally i decided to buy Nokia 5300. the new xpress music cell. nice apperance, nice function. the most important is that it likes 550 very much.

Firstly, i thought it may not be as good as 550 for me, because, many functions in 550 may not able to support in 5300. However, now, i found i absolutely wrong. all i want can be seen in 5300. hehe!!!  loving it so much~~~

 

if anyone want to buy a cellphone now, i strongly recommend Nokia 5300~~

今天考的英播,确实不扎样~~~NERVOUS ING~~弄的感觉话都没说CLEAR~~~题目也让偶想破脑袋也没想出来好的答案: if it is possible, what product do you want to invent mostly and why~~想了半天,说我想INVENT MEDICINE~~算了不说了,反正只差就是咯.特长展示本来是钢琴,结果场地不允许,临时换成舞蹈~~郁闷死我了~~~

 

不过貌似今天桃花盛开,春天来了,哈哈~~尽让我碰到帅哥些~~~先是考英播的时候,有个玉林的,感觉他好像......黄晓明~~今天想了一天,刚刚终于想起来咯,OH YEAH~~~然后考文编的时候,居然遇到JX了~~哇卡卡~~昨天就听WY他们在说有个叫JX的男的长的只帅.结果今天考试就排在我前面~~~缘分啊~~其实刚刚进候考室的时候,发现他有点亮眼,但也没怎么多注意,因为XSD在,就和她聊天切咯.结果老师进来喊名字,突然就听到JX~~天,原来就他,而且就排我前面~~太巧咯,偶当场闪翻~~正眼看看~~EM~~确实还可以,哈哈~~~just kidding~~在进考场前,我问他知道什么叫讲演不~~他给我说了一啪啦~~~原则是什么啊~~应该抓些什么东西啊~~等等.```EM~~这人还真不错~~嘿嘿~~~我和他在两个不同的考室,但是备考时,中间只隔了一个人.我朝他使眼色说我还是不知道怎么说,他笑了下~~偶问他你抽的题号是多少~~天,没想到我和他抽的题又是一样~~~于是...偶...就问他电话号码,他居然给我了~~哇卡卡~~~我说我考完了给你发短信~~~就进去考试了~~~

 

阳光真灿烂~~~呵呵,我心情也多好的~~出来就给他发短信道谢,如果不是他,可能文编偶真的就考砸了~~~没想到他居然回的是,不用不用,谁叫我是帅哥呢~~天,有这么自恋的人不~~然后就随便聊了聊~~本来都打算回家了,我也不知道为什么我会神经西西的又跑回音乐学院,就看见他站在门口~~本来他说他请我吃饭(我说我考完饿死咯,貌似他也没吃的)我说还是我请吧~~结果他爸爸从绵阳过来接他.哎~~~和帅哥共处的机会又没了~~我从川音后面绕过去,他看到我了,我和他站在川音门前聊了会~~然后WY给我打电话,我让她从艺校里出来,她不干!~呵呵,她问我和谁在一起,我说JX,其实本来不想说的,毕竟人家站在我旁边,但想把她弄出来,谁叫他们说她好象喜欢他呢~~(貌似是绯闻)然后我就看到WD,GB,QTY站在对面,then,给JX说了声走了,就过街了,那三个人也正好往我这个方向走.当WD听到我把JX的电话要到了,简直要发疯,呵呵~~一直不停问我关于他的东西~~呵呵~~看来JX还真受欢迎呢~~和他发了好一会短信~~~嘿嘿,我们说好他回绵阳之前,我请他吃饭当作考文编的谢礼~~不过他如果进了上戏的复试~~~嘿嘿,就等着我砍吧~~~呵呵~~~期待ING~~

sigh~~~today morning, i found myself pass the China Communication University's first round test. it is what i have already guessed. No one major failed. I don't know if i should be happy or just so so. Tomorrow, the second round test will start

i don't think i can pass it though it is really too strict. Anyway, congraduation to myself!!

 

While, a bad news came, i got defer in the application for MHC, oh my godness~~ i have no words to describe the feeling~~OK, i will show the letter from MHC website:

今天终于中传考完了~~~松了一口气了~~~排队等考试真是件郁闷的事~~明明预约的时间是9:00,16:00和10:00,结果等到了10:00过的17:00过的10:30过~~~

还好,考英播和翻译的人今年还不算太多~~+起来可能有150,160的样子吧~~哇卡卡~~~

说说考试吧~~

自我感觉良好型~~不过考英播郁闷了~~外面给的题和考场里给的题不一样~~我又在犯瓜~~没有给老师说我的题不一样~~555~~硬着头皮考下来了~~自然没有准备过的那套题那么好...555不知道会不会挂呢~~

文编应该是考的最好的吧~~老师挺和蔼的~~呵呵,尤其是那个男的,还和我开玩笑来着~~

翻译是考的最差的~~~感觉问的问题说的太没有条理了~~~全在乱来~~~~而且好象还有个单词音发错了,novel不是读/navol/???为什么那个老师会让我跟着念/novol/好奇怪~~~~

不管那么多了~~~等着2月2发榜吧~~

今天心情一好,小偶就跑去报考中国传媒大学的专业考试~~~一报就报了3门~~再加南广一门~~~400大洋啊~~心痛~~~

报了两个国际传播学院的专业~~~HOHO,WY给我说的,早上那里无人问津~~~结果我去的时候,看登记表~~报双语播主的还真TT多~~

至少15个吧~~还有两个是我们学校的~~~一个是高一一个班的~~一个是现在一个寝室的~~Faint~~~~

报翻译的好象只有5.6个呢~~~有HT同学~~再次Faint~~~还有一个是HMS,不过忘了报哪个专业了,反正不熟不管了~~~

 

明天早上9点就开考~~~天~~~还真TT快,什么也没准备~~~不管咯~~该扎整扎整~~~反正进与不进不是太大区别~~可能只是会有点小小的失落而已吧~~小郁闷,哇咔咔~~~

 

王乖,现在应该可以知道同济的结果了吧??祝福她,为她祈祷中......一定要进3试啊~~你那么优秀的~~~~阿门~~~

Last night, when I went back home, I found a mail from Smith College~~So nervously to see that~~

It is my Pin which can enter their website~ I have waited it so long time~ but finally, they misconsider my name is Sheny instead of Shery, so they sent to wrong address~~ I faint a lot.

 

It is what I thought before. When I login on Smith's Banner~ I saw the Admission letter----Rejection.

下星期SMITH的DEFER也快来了吧~~前几天收到它的邮件,偶还以为是REJECTION~结果是CONFIRM LETTER而已~~虚惊一场~~

虽然做好拿REJECTION的准备了~~但还是不知道真正拿到时会是什么感觉~~5555算咯,不想了~~偶现在的目标是MHC和FM呢~~加油吧~~
